About me
Amanda Melvin
Amanda Melvin is a self-taught contemporary painter whose work explores the intersection of portraiture and abstraction through expressive color, layered brushwork, and an evolving study of form. Working primarily in acrylic and oil, she creates paintings that balance representational elements with intuitive mark-making, allowing emotion, movement, and color relationships to shape each composition.
Artist Statement
My work is driven by curiosity. As a self-taught painter, I approach every canvas as an opportunity to learn, experiment, and discover new ways that color, texture, and form can communicate emotion. Rather than pursuing perfection, I embrace painting as an ongoing process of exploration where each finished piece reflects both growth and discovery.
